Left 4 Dead Review

-Left 4 Dead

Gameplay:
This game starts out as incredibly fun. You're killing zombies! How can that not be fun? It is fun. But it slowly goes downhill from there. Remember: SLOWLY goes downhill. There's definitely enough to keep you going. There's a nice small array of weapons, and different ways to get your health up...it's really a well put-together game. There's also a free DLC called Survival Mode: it's like Horde in Gears 2. It's pretty fun! Overall, this game has some good gameplay, with enough to keep you going. The only problem is that the game is a little repetitive.

Story:
The game doesn't really have a plot, but it has a story, which is told in two ways: The cutscene at the beginning of the game, and then the writing on the walls of the safe rooms. The story is that there's been a zombie apocalypse, and it has reached these four people who have to fight their way to freedom...while getting dropped off at a few different places for no reason...It doesn't make a lot of sense. They get saved at the end of each level, then are put right back in danger for no reason. Weird.

Graphics:
Unfortunately, the graphics reminded me of Gamecube graphics. Not too good. Not too bad, but not too good either. The first person part of it was good, but everything around you wasn't.

Replay:
This part is cool. First of all, you can replay the campaign with your buddies online, which is awesome. If that's not awesome enough for you, don't worry, there's more...there's this thing called "The Director" which changes up the gameplay every time. So now, the witch spawns in different places, you get attacked at different times, and other stuff is mixed up too. Also, the game knows you. If you're sucking, it makes it easier. If you're doing well, it'll make the game harder. The replay is fantastic.

Recommend? Well, this is weird. The game got a bad score, but I do recommend it. Why? It was a lot of fun, and the only reason it scored so low was because of having no plot. So go ahead and get it. If you don't want to, I hear Left 4 Dead 2 (coming in November) has a plot...
